Adobong Pusit is one of my many favorite foods here in the Philippines. Adobong Pusit or in or words Squid Adobo. I just love sea foods and squid is just one of them. I usually buy this kind of menu when ever I go to the city. The last time I eat a Squid Adobo was in Resty's house where Tita cooked a Squid Adobo for lunch. As expected of Tita's cooking, it was very delicious. Writing this blog makes me hungry because I can't just stop remembering how delicious an Adobong Pusit is. Yummy.. Below is the recipe for the Adobong Pusit..
Adobong Pusit
(Squid Adobo)
5 cloves garlic, minced
2 red onions, minced
1 kg small squid or baby squid
1 1/2 Tbsp freshly cracked black pepper
1/2 c regular vinegar
coarse salt
2 red onions, minced
1 kg small squid or baby squid
1 1/2 Tbsp freshly cracked black pepper
1/2 c regular vinegar
coarse salt
1. Pull the heads out of the squids and discard the transparent elongated bones that are inside
the bodies. Skin the squids if possible. Wash well, strain then set aside.
2. Over medium heat, sauté garlic and onion in oil. Stir in the squids. Let the juices and the ink
come out of them. Add the black pepper then pour in the vinegar. Do not stir and do not cover
until the mixture has simmered for about 10 minutes! Sprinkle some salt to taste. Do not cook too long as the squids cook fast. Serve with steamed rice
