It was sometime in July last year that I got hired as a programmer in a small software company called SmartMinds. It's a local company that is owned and run by a half Japanese half Filipino name Christopher Uy. SmartMinds caters all sort of softwares for other companies like payroll system, accounting system, inventory system and etc. My job was to modify, create and add additional modules if required by the customers. If we are called by the customer to do some trouble shooting, whether software or hardware related. We are required by our boss to personally go to the company and fix it there if possible. Our boss issued each of us programmers his own motorcycle for our transportation, at first I was really nervous driving a motorcycle because I'm not used to it. But it didn't take me long to get used to it.
In SmartMinds, programmers are for softwares and technicians are for hardwares. But there are times that our one and only technician is out or busy, so our boss usually sends me out to do the job. I don't really mind about it because I can gain more knowledge in hardware trouble shooting and I can also go out of our office. I'd rather do on-field jobs because it's fun going out on your own and go to the mall for a bit or just hang around somewhere. I really liked working in SmartMinds because I get along with my coworkers, sometime we even go to the bench and stuff. But the fun didn't last long, I only worked for about 2 months and resigned because my mother got sick and hospitalized.
